John Hendicott

John is known as much for his DJ sets as his countless remixes and reworks, having had acclaimed releases on labels like Tru Thoughts, Riddim Fruit and Wah Wah 45’s with artists such as Ray Charles, Bobby McFerrin, Missy Elliot, Fela Kuti, Donny Hathaway and George McCrae.

This variety of style is reflected in a record collection that spans afrobeat and cumbia, dancehall, hip hop, jazz and house music all mixed together in a distinctive blend of sampling and scratching.

You can catch John this year at the summer festivals, touring with Chai Wallahs and other independent stages. Previous tours have spanned Indonesia and Europe, with corporate gigs including Bacardi, Southern Comfort and Budweiser. Festivals ar­e too many to mention, but John has thrown his wellies on for Glastonbury, T in the Park, V Fest, Reading Festival, Womad, Secret Garden Party, Shambala, Greenman, Sunrise etc..
