The National Institute for Zorig Chusum is the premier institution of traditional arts and crafts set up by the Government of Bhutan with the sole objective of preserving the rich culture and tradition of Bhutan and training students in all traditional art forms. Zorig Chusum means “thirteen arts” which are painting, carving, sculpture, calligraphy, carpentry, gold- and silversmithing, bamboo work, wood turning, weaving and embroidery, pottery, blacksmithing, masonry, and incense-stick making.
As part of their participation in the arts festival, Zorig Chusum will showcase their crafts at Le Meridian from the 14th – 23rd of February, 2015. There will also be live demonstrations. Come and witness the talents of some of the finest craftspeople in the country and maybe take home a souvenir that is unique to Bhutan.
